Visit Chena Hot Spring, Fairbanks

We drove from the national park to the hot spring.  I should definitely share the picture of the sunset. It looked beautiful and very unique. You can feel the curve in the sky. Pictures will not do the justice.

Chena hot spring was founded over 100 years ago I personally had a very great time at the hot spring resort, it was a very unique resort. They provide various options for accommodation like a yurt, lodging, and camping. They have various holiday packages.

We chose to camp and did not take packages basically we wanted to keep the cost of the trip low. The camp sites are clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the resort and was well worth the drive. We were at the resort for one day and two nights.

The first day we technically slept after check in and pitching the tent.

On the second day, we walked around the resort and found many interesting car models on display

The resort has its own runway.

There is a free geothermal energy tour at 2 PM and 4 PM every day. Very informative and fascinating

The Aurora ice museum is amazing and super unique of its kind and well worth the visit. They have interesting ice sculptures and an ice bar. Do try the Appletini at the ice bar. You will definitely enjoy the appletini from an ice glass, which you can keep for yourself

For more ice sculptures visit yourself, you will not be disappointed

After the visit to the ice museum and lunch at the restaurant inside the hot spring (that is the only restaurant around the hot spring the price was reasonable given the location ).

we headed to the much-awaited activity. soaking in the hot spring. The facility has coin operated lockers, towels to rent and clean showers. The shower and the hot spring is neatly maintained. The hot spring is known for its healing waters. I suggest visiting the hot spring at last after dark as you can stand a chance to view Aurora Borealis. The hot spring is open till midnight. How often can you get to view Aurora Borealis while relaxing in a hot spring?

We were lucky to view Aurora Borealis as Fairbanks promised a clear sky day. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the resort. They got activities to keep you occupied for a day even if your trip is on a budget.

You can follow the website of University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geological institute website for Northern lights predictions (link provided).
After spending the night at the camp we headed next day towards Anchorage airport and on the way, we visited Matanuska Glacier, which is a small detour on the way to the airport.
